Global IT spending in 2022 to grow by 5.1%

According to Gadgetendency, Gartner expects that this year, IT leaders can shift from focusing on important short-term projects to working long-term. Telecommunications services will remain the largest spender, with expenditures for this sector expected to be $1,463 billion, up 1.3% from last year's $1.444 billion. In 2023, Gartner predicts growth in the telecom services sector of 2.2% to reach $1.494 billion.

IT services came in second with an increase of 7.9% this year, to $1,280 billion. Last year's growth in IT services was 10.7% and is expected to grow by 8.8% in 2023.

This is followed by sales of enterprise software that will grow 11% to $672 billion. Last year, growth in this segment was 14.4%, while growth in 2023 is expected to reach 11.9%.

In next place is device sales, which grew 13% last year and are expected to grow only 3.3% this year, to $812 billion. By 2023, the figure is expected to reduce costs by 1.2% under this item.

And finally, data center systems revenue will grow 4.7% this year to $226 billion. Growth in 2011 was 11.4% and is expected to reach 4.7% next year.
